Osborne Brushing
Step two of the restoration process is Osborne Brushing. Northern Log Home Restoration cannot express how vital this step is in the restoration process. After Media blasting there can be some slight felting of the wood, which makes the log rough to the touch. Osborne brushing is a nylon bristle brush used with a hand grinder to remove the felting and give the log a uniform surface. If the log surface is not uniform the stain will saturate the wood unevenly making it undesirable to the eye. Proper Prep = Proper Finish
